Paper lens
Governance · Constitution · IR

Explain the legislative cause, constitutional mechanism, and governance effect.

CauseThe constitutional provision, political context, or rights claim that initiated this development.
MechanismThe institutional or judicial process through which it took effect — SC judgements, acts, rules.
EffectThe governance or rights outcome — what changed in practice for citizens or institutions.

What most aspirants write

Defining the term rather than explaining it. 'Explain' requires the mechanism — the 'how' and 'why' — not the 'what'.

What the rubric actually requires

The cause-mechanism-effect chain must be explicit. Each link in the chain must be present. An answer that only defines the phenomenon has not explained it.
