Tanjore Salt March 1930

C. Rajagopalachari (Rajaji) organized a salt march on the Tanjore coast in South India in April 1930, following Gandhi's famous Dandi Salt March. Rajagopalachari was a prominent freedom fighter from Madras Presidency and participated in the Civil Disobedience Movement. V. O. Chidambaram Pillai was a labor leader; K. Kamaraj was a political figure who rose to prominence later; and Annie Besant was a theosophist and activist but was not specifically associated with this march. > Rajagopalachari led the Tanjore salt march in April 1930 during Civil Disobedience Movement.
