Doctors Without Borders (Médecins Sans Frontières - MSF) is an independent, international, non-governmental organization that provides medical humanitarian aid. It is not a division of WHO, not an inter-governmental agency of EU, and not a specialized UN agency. MSF operates independently across the world in conflict zones and humanitarian crises. The organization was founded in 1971 by French doctors and has maintained its autonomous, non-governmental status while working with international humanitarian principles.
