Satya Shodhak Samaj Social Movement

Satya Shodhak Samaj (Truth Seeking Society) was founded by Jyotirao Phule in Maharashtra in 1873. It was primarily an anti-caste movement aimed at social reform and the upliftment of lower castes and peasants. The organization challenged the Brahmanical social order and promoted rationalism and equality. It is not associated with tribal upliftment in Bihar, temple entry in Gujarat, or peasant movements in Punjab. The movement was specifically rooted in Maharashtra.
