WannaCry, Petya, and EternalBlue are all terms related to major cybersecurity incidents and malware. WannaCry is a ransomware that caused massive global attacks in 2017. Petya is another ransomware that emerged as an evolution of earlier malware. EternalBlue is an exploit (a vulnerability exploitation tool) developed by the NSA that was stolen and used to propagate WannaCry and Petya. These were extensively covered in news during 2017 as they affected critical infrastructure worldwide.
